Kristen Smart suspect Paul Flores’ DNA matches suspect in Redondo Beach
rape case
Redondo Beach Police Lieutenant Fabian Saucedo told the Los Angeles Times that Paul Flores’ DNA matches the DNA of a
suspect who, in 2007, raped a woman after encountering her at a local bar.
The woman’s alleged account of the incident is similar to that of Kristen Smart who Paul Flores is also accused of raping as well as kidnapping, killing, and illegally disposing of her body under his daddy’s, Ruben Flores’, deck for 25 years.

Like Kristen Smart who Paul Flores allegedly offered to walk back to her dorm after she became a little too tipsy following a night of partying, Paul Flores allegedly encountered the woman when she was in a state of heavy intoxication and then took her back to his place where he allegedly raped her.
The woman told investigators that she woke up, in her “birthday suit,” in Paul Flores’ bed without any memory of how she got there, who took her there, and what they did after they got there.
The medical examiner did an exam on her which showed no signs of rape or that she was given a date rape drug. The police asked Paul Flores about the incident but he played boo boo the fool, telling the police that he couldn’t remember what he did or who he did and that he probably had relations with the woman due to the fact that he has “sex with many girls.” In other words, Paul Flores was trying to convince the law that he is a “lover boy” whose loving the women folks just love.
Paul Flores managed to escape prosecution due to the fact that the medical examiner didn’t give the prosecution much to go on and the chances of them winning a “he say, she say” case about a woman who was out drinking and then ended up in her “birthday suit” in some man’s bed who she didn’t know from Adam wasn’t going to go over well with jurors.
So, the Los Angeles County prosecutor’s office put the case on ice. The ice, though, was melted by all of the heat coming from the Kristen Smart case which had key similarities to the Redondo Beach case.
The Los Angeles prosecutors just couldn’t shake the fact that two young women, one dead and one alive, whose cases are 11 years apart came in contact with Paul Flores under similar circumstances.
Both young women were out with their friends and it wasn’t until they became heavily intoxicate that Paul Flores approached them as the benevolent fella who just wanted to make sure they got home safe. The woman in 2007 got home alive, but the young woman in 1996 did not. Those facts, alone, are why the prosecutors in Los Angeles County and San Luis Obispo County, where Paul Flores and Kristen Smart attended college, have open investigations into old rape cases in order to determine if Paul Flores is a serial sexual predator who has more victims out there.
